The rooms are simple, quiet, and comfortable, with AC and a TV. Some can be quite dark depending on which one you choose. There’s no hot water, though in Mitú’s heat I didn’t miss it, and I had everything I needed for a good night’s rest. For birding, Monica really made the stay. She arranged breakfast to go at 4 am and brought lunch out to us in the jungle, 40 minutes to an hour from Mitú. When I asked for a particular beer, she sent someone around to several shops to find it, even though I would’ve been fine with another one. She also found souvenirs for us since we couldn’t get to any stores after long days in the field. Monica takes wonderful care of her guests and goes well beyond what’s expected.

The people were nice, but I stayed eight nights and never got one good night’s sleep. The dog barked constantly and woke me up, and then the rooster would start up around 3 or 4 am.

Birdwatchers will feel right at home here. Everyone was super friendly, and the food was good. Like in much of Colombia, there weren’t many vegetables. Great birding, too.

The owners were so kind, and breakfast was delicious. This special little hotel is very close to Mitú airport. The rooms are simple, but comfortable, with good beds, air conditioning, and what you need to get some rest.
