Hotel Laurel Plaza

Photos can be so misleading, and this place is nothing like the pictures. I’d suggest arriving very late, sleeping there, then heading out the next morning.

The rooms I saw at the Laurel Plaza Hotel were simple but well-equipped with air conditioning. It’s an affordable option for a couple, at 83,000 COP. Camila at reception was friendly and helpful.

For a quiet and comfortable night, especially if you’re here for work, it works well. It’s clean, has air conditioning and few insects, and is close to the main avenue and shopping center. The downsides: the TV signal is weak, so every channel cuts in and out, and the towel was thin, short, and very worn. The entrance door stays locked, so you have to rely on the receptionist paying attention. Otherwise, you could be left waiting outside a long time in the scorching sun, like I was. I’d say it’s only good for an overnight stay.

It was quiet, so I could rest comfortably. The parking and service were good too.
