Casa Coraje

The food at Casa Coraje is what really sets it apart, it was sensational. We were lucky to meet the lovely owner, Naty, and had a great chat. She suggested lots of things to do nearby. We stayed with our three young kids, and they loved it. The little pool was perfect for cooling off, and they had fun hiring body boards a little way down the beach. Casa Coraje also organized a tubing day trip on Palomino River, which was amazing. The gentle rapids made it fun for the kids, and even my six-year-old daughter loved it. It’s a cool, bohemian place right on the beach, just a stone’s throw from Palomino’s Main Street. The rooms have a cool design and are comfortable, with lots of comfy spots to hang out. We had a wonderful day there. Highly recommended for a stay with kids in Palomino 🤍

The food was good, so maybe I’ll give it another try and see if the service is better. I live here and like checking out new restaurants, and I’d been curious to try this one for a more upscale beachfront experience. I got a menu right away, but then waited 10-15 minutes for someone to come back and take my order. After the food arrived and I ate, it took a long time for them to return. I sat there for a while, then the waiter brought the check without asking if I wanted anything else. I’d hoped to order dessert, but was told they didn’t have any. I’ve eaten at a lot of places and expected a better experience.

The setting was beautiful, with our table right on the beach, but the loudspeaker was so close that we could barely hear our friends. We asked them to turn the music down and they didn’t. Our group waited over 50 minutes for food, and the portions were too small. The staff seemed lethargic, apart from the women in the kitchen. It’s puzzling that they work so hard while we had to wait so long. I wouldn’t go back, despite the lovely location.

The venue is lovely, but we won’t be returning. Four of us came in excited and with high expectations after reading reviews, but we’ve never been so disappointed by a meal and service. The fish tacos were so over-fried the fish was like chewing rubber, and I had to take it out of my taco. At that premium price, they were a sad excuse for fish tacos. The fish nuggets and chips were barely warm. We waited over an hour for the food, even though we were the only people in the restaurant and had only ordered entrees. They need to make major improvements.
