The service was nice, and the hotel is right in the city center. Prices were a little higher than at the hotel we found about 9 blocks down in Champanat. Getting around the stairs is a problem, and the mechanic shop next door runs 2 cycle motors all day while repairing them. It's terribly noisy. They turn things down or move to another side when you complain, but it still stays pretty loud.

It was okay, though a bit expensive and noisy. Secure parking and cheap beer were pluses.

I liked the nicely decorated place and the good reception. The hotel was pleasant, with hot water and an excellent breakfast.

Some recent guests describe their stay as a nightmare, citing very high rates, confusing policies, and staff treatment they considered abusive. They felt the situation was serious enough to need police involvement. Parking also left guests feeling misled and disappointed. Other complaints concern hard beds, pillows compared to rocks, and unpleasant smells in the rooms. Some guests found the staff cold and unhelpful, including being told to find parking themselves despite booking it ahead. The Hotel Chambu Plaza is centrally located, but these reports point to real problems with comfort, service, and management. It doesn't sound suitable if you're looking for an easy, hassle-free stay.
