On December 21, 2025, my wife and I stayed at Hotel La Herrería Colonial. I strongly advise against booking it. The attentive staff were one positive, but I have few good things to say otherwise. The tiny room had an even tinier bathroom, and the mattress was old, thin, and horribly uncomfortable. I couldn't get a restful night's sleep. The hotel was overpriced, with water-damaged, moldy walls and poor upkeep overall.

We had a lovely New Year's Eve at the hotel, even though we'd made no plans. The staff offered champagne and grapes for the midnight toast, and we celebrated with them and the other guests. Our room was large and clean, and the location was quiet and within walking distance of the city center. Breakfast was good, and the coffee was amazing, as usual in Colombia. We loved it!

Everything came with a big smile, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. The food was good, as was the laundry service. I'd recommend staying here.

The breakfast was standard, and the staff were extremely polite and went out of their way to help. I'd like to see the free coffee served without single use plastic cups, and the same change would be welcome for the single serving butter and jam containers at breakfast.

A quiet place to explore the local sights, with no party hostel atmosphere. It's a historic building near the main plaza, with basic amenities and a strong Catholic decor that gives it a bit of a grandmother's house feel. Rooms are small, with a desk, flat screen tv and wardrobe; the bed is firm, with Spartan thread count sheets. Bathrooms are small and have electric showers. The staff are courteous and sell snacks and beverages. There's a small restaurant in the main lobby, though it isn't staffed daily.
