Sol Caribe Providencia

The location is good, in a small “town” near a supermarket, but the island is so small that it doesn’t make much difference. We stayed here for two nights as a couple in our thirties from London, hoping to pay a little more for somewhere nicer. That was the wrong choice. Accommodation in Providencia is basic in general, and we’re fine with that, but we’re sure there’s better value elsewhere. The rooms are very tired. The shower had neither water pressure nor hot water, there’s no beach right outside, the food was honestly terrible, and the WiFi barely worked and was only available at reception. There’s no bar, and the place has no vibe. At times it felt depressing, though that’s not true of Providencia as a whole. Check-in was another hassle. We were told it was at 3pm, went for lunch, and returned then. They said the room needed another 30 minutes. We took a walk and came back, but it still wasn’t ready. We finally got in at 1630. There are a couple of things in its favor. Some rooms right at the front by the sea seem newer, and the online photos show those newest rooms, only about two or three of them, rather than most of the rooms. The location is convenient, but I’d rent a motorbike and get around the island. I’d either pay a bit more for Deep Blue or find somewhere cheaper with better value.

A great deal and the best option in Providence. The rooms are very clean and have A.C., there’s a restaurant and a supermarket close by, and the beach is just 10 steps away. The service was amazing!

The staff were very friendly, and it’s an excellent hotel. I highly recommend staying here.

This is a very simple hotel, with no luxury at all.
