Hotel Arqueologico

We spent a couple of nights here and enjoyed the cool, mild evenings. The Archaeological Park and a rafting trip were highlights, and I’d definitely recommend rafting. The grounds are lovely and well located, with things to do like a little artificial-turf soccer pitch, badminton gear, and a bookstore. A couple of things felt awkward. We brought two large dogs and didn’t feel especially welcome: we were told to keep them in an on-site kennel with a doghouse, so we instead kept them in our room and were careful because we could have been fined if dog marks were found on the property’s belongings. The explanation about the shared kitchen also came across as reluctant, though it turned out to have plenty of utensils and a refrigerator.

The breakfast was good, and the staff were really friendly. Service overall was excellent and the facilities were comfortable. The noise was the one drawback: the hotel’s soccer field is right across from the rooms, and kids were playing late during our stay.

There’s plenty here, including a library, synthetic court 4, billiards, a chapel, and a restaurant serving breakfast and lunch, with several kinds of accommodation. The staff are attentive and know the area well. It’s near both the archaeological park and the town center. The entrance can be a little confusing, but it’s an excellent place.

Set on the quiet edge of town, it’s a clean, pleasant place with comfortable rooms. Breakfast comes with the stay, and there’s a soccer field and badminton to play. Just be aware there’s no hot water, and sounds from the neighboring rooms carry through.
