Blue Island Hotel

The room itself was fine, but there was no water and the air conditioning didn’t work. The reception staff were in a terrible mood and treated you like a nuisance. San Andrés feels like one expensive business after another, with terrible quality.

The service was attentive and good, and the hotel is in a good location. Breakfast is served separately, though it comes rather late, after 8 am, which is an issue if you’re there for work. The room I had was quite basic and poorly maintained, with damage to the masonry and finishes. There was no hot water, and the value for money was very low. The price didn’t match the quality.

We had a room with a balcony, which was handy for drying clothes. The hotel was comfortable, with a spacious room and bathroom, plus a minibar and air conditioning. The shower had very low water pressure and no hot water. The water quality was also just so-so.

It’s a quiet, comfortable hotel around three blocks from the beach. The rooms are spacious, air-conditioned, and have a refrigerator. They’re cleaned daily, with fresh towels each day. I’d definitely come back for my next vacation in Sai.
