GHL Relax Hotel Sunrise

The main issue was the rooms. Our room 505 felt damp, so we moved to 701. It seemed less wet at first, but after we were out for a few hours, we came back to find the entrance and bathroom practically flooded, and the AC wasn’t working. The hotel itself felt humid too. The location is great, with a few shops nearby, and the lobby is sleek. Staff were friendly, the restaurant was nice, and the food they served was okay, while food you could buy was good. The private beach and pool area were nice, though the beach was a little crowded. It’s a decent hotel if you don’t mind feeling wet and sweaty all the time.

The lobby and restaurant were nice, and it was an easy walk to places. But the room felt like a storage unit, and the WiFi was poor or unavailable. There was no refrigerator, wall art, or other decoration. Our window looked onto a garbage-filled rooftop, with no ocean or garden view. It was far too expensive for what we got, like cheap beer in a fancy bottle being sold at champagne prices. My girlfriend said she felt unsafe at the hotel.

The property could be five star, but it just isn’t. It’s in a good location, though the building badly needs maintenance and the deck around the pool is plain dangerous. Lunch at the buffet wasn’t anything special.

The place smelled bad, and the rooms were filthy and a disaster. The front desk staff seemed to have no idea what they were doing. Easily the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at.
