We were worn out when we arrived, so I didn’t complain about the water on the floor. Juan brought an extra towel when I asked, and the staff were friendly. The bed was firm but comfortable, and the ceiling fan with the air conditioner was a nice combination. That’s about where the positives end. There was a damp smell, we only had one floor towel, and I found black mold on the shower curtain and in a few small patches on the walls. San Andres is very humid, so that might be part of the problem. The hotel looks much better in its photos than it felt in person. We booked at the last minute and may have ended up in one of the less good rooms, so other rooms could be better. If you’re an experienced traveler looking for a low price, it might be fine as a place to sleep. I’d give it 2.5/5. Buena Suerte!

Breakfast was varied and enjoyable, and the place was quiet, about a 10/15-minute walk from the center. We stayed several nights at Verano Azul and had a large room with both air conditioning and a fan, which we really needed in San Andres’s heat. It has a warm, family-run feel, with a lovely couple running it and their parents helping out. Thanks for having us, Jennifer and Juan.

There’s a delicious homemade breakfast each morning, and the center and beach are both within walking distance. The hosts were so friendly and happy to help with tours, directions, tips, and general information. My room was clean, and the neighborhood felt quiet and safe, so I slept well. Thanks for having me!

The homemade breakfasts were delicious, and the hosts were really friendly. They helped arrange the tours we needed, including discounts, and gave us good advice for seeing the island’s beautiful spots. It’s also in a convenient location, close to the city center. We had an excellent stay.

I happened to find Verano Azul while visiting San Andres, and I’m really glad I did. The hosts were warm and the stay was very comfortable. I’m already looking forward to coming back.
