Posada Omi Place

The price was incredibly affordable, which was a big plus. My friend and I spent four days at this inn and had a wonderful stay. The rooms were spotless, each with its own bathroom, and the locals were so friendly. It was also in a great spot, around a 15-minute walk to the center. ✨ I’d definitely recommend it.

A pleasant, quiet, and very clean place, with several friendly, playful dogs around. It’s a short walk from the airport and roughly 10-15 minutes from the beach. Our room had a fridge, air conditioning, a fan, and a TV. The street is unpaved, but the property felt safe. I’d recommend staying here.

The accommodation itself was cute, comfortable, and clean, but there were problems from the start. Within the first few hours, I saw two cockroaches come up through the bathroom drains, so we kept the drains covered with plastic bags for the rest of our stay. We never met Sra Sandra, only Sr Rafael, who treated us very well. The address shown on Google was wrong because the street doesn’t appear on the map. It’s an unpaved road behind the airport, with abandoned vehicles and buildings. We walked there and couldn’t find the place until a woman on the street called the inn and Sr Rafael came to get us. Some locals warned us not to walk around the neighborhood at night because it could be dangerous. We were nervous about walking back after dark, and when we asked Sra Sandra about Sr Rafael, who is a taxi driver, picking us up a few blocks away, she quoted an outrageous price and said we could walk if we thought it was too expensive. When we said it didn’t feel safe, she was hostile and said she’d never heard that before. We’d seen warnings online and heard the same from neighbors, and no taxi driver wanted to take us to the inn or go down the dirt road. The owner later sent us this message on WhatsApp: “La proxima vez que hagas reserva busca un hotel 5 estrella.donde puedes exigir y no barato queriendo estar en el centro y comodo. Eres lo peor de brazilero que ha llegado a mi posada. Menos mal fue 3 noches. Al fin he tenido mejores huesped brazilero que usted. Paga poco y exige mas.” I’ll leave it to you to decide what you think of the inn.

We spent a week in the inn’s apartment with our family, and it had what we needed for cooking, including a table and sofa. The rooms had air conditioning, and there was also a fan, which helped a lot in the island heat. Getting around was easy from there: the main beach, town center, pier, and airport were all within walking distance, handy with taxis being expensive. Shops and stores lined the route to the beach, and there were also places to book tours and motorbikes. We loved the apartment and especially the hospitality from the owners, Mrs. Sandra and Mr. Rafa. They left us coffee each morning, suggested places to visit, and put us in touch with agencies to explore the island.
