Breakfast was a highlight, with fresh fruit and delicious local farmer’s cheese. The hotel is right on the water and only a five-minute walk from some of the island’s best beaches. It’s away from downtown, so there isn’t much traffic. The plumbing is a bit odd, as it is in many small Colombian hotels, but keeping the bathroom door shut meant it didn’t bother us.

The property is right on the beach and away from the main city. You can also use another hotel’s beach, which is really nice.

We left after the first night and the hotel wouldn’t refund us, even though the place was nothing like its online description. The room surfaces felt wet from the humidity, the faucets were filthy with grime, and everything smelled bad. The beach area was dirty and unusable, with broken chairs, and the location felt sketchy. Breakfast was bad too, that was the worst arepa I’ve ever tried to eat.
