Zapadilly Tree Hotel

The room was clean, the bed comfortably firm, and housekeeping kept everything in good shape. We also loved the location, with the beach, restaurants, and shops close by. Breakfast was excellent, with something different each day, and the service there was spot on. The rooftop pool is beautiful, though it seems some parts are still being finished. The water was pretty cold, and the 9:30 AM-6:30 PM hours felt limited. It’d be nice if it stayed open until 9 or 10 PM. Our second-floor room faced the street, so it got noisy now and then. Zapadilly is still quite new, but we had a really good stay. I’ve worked in hotels for about six years, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting San Andrés.

The breakfast staff were amazing, and the food was very good. The location worked well, and the rooftop was nice, though the sunbeds could be a lot more comfortable. After a gruelling 30-hour trip from the UK, we were disappointed by how check-in went. A couple of days before arriving, I asked on WhatsApp if an early check-in might be possible. They replied that we’d have to check room availability once we got there, which was fine. But at the hotel, we were told the room wasn’t ready and could be made available soon if we paid an extra £80. It immediately felt like we were being robbed, especially since we’d asked beforehand and hadn’t been told about the charge on WhatsApp. We were exhausted and had nowhere else to shower, since there’s no shower room, so in the end we paid. The room didn’t look like the photos on the booking site. It was very small and had no storage space. Light also came through the shower-room window while we were trying to sleep. The whole arrival left us feeling robbed and disappointed.

We stayed a few nights in a two-bedroom apartment, and everything had been prepared perfectly. The rooms were quiet and brand new, and the beds were very comfortable. Up on the roof, the new pool had lovely views. The staff were friendly and professional throughout. Reception spoke both Spanish and English, and the restaurant served fresh food and fresh sweet cakes with a very good selection. We’d stayed in a few hotels on San Andres, and this was the best one on the island. It definitely felt like a five-star hotel. I strongly recommend it.

The location makes it easy to get to the beach and boardwalk. Breakfast was great, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Recommended.
