Casa Origen

I’ve been staying at los naranjos properties for 4+ years, and this was my first time at casa origen. The good parts: the service was great, the rooms were large, modern, and clean, and the pool was beautiful. They had French press coffee, a small detail I love. A safety issue stood out: one of the wooden steps at the bottom of the basement bedroom stairs was broken, which seems dangerous, especially for older guests. The dim lights above the bed didn’t work, so reading meant using the very bright side lamp. It was too bright, and if you’re 1.80m or taller, the bulb is right in your line of sight. I’d like a proper dim bedside reading light. We booked last minute after seeing availability on booking.com. We showed the front desk the booking rate and asked for a better price to book directly. She called the manager, who refused to offer a lower rate, even though they’d knowingly lose money to booking.com instead of having us book direct. That seemed very strange to me.

We’ve stayed here three times, and my husband and I are already planning another visit. It’s cozy and warm, a real home away from home. The staff are incredibly helpful. When I had stomach issues on one stay, they went above and beyond, and their kindness and attention made a real difference. We travel with our dog, so we love that the hotel welcomes pets and lets us all spend quality time together. The property is spotlessly clean, and the menu has lots of delicious choices, whether you want something light or hearty. There are two beaches nearby, but swimming isn’t recommended because the surf is strong. The views are stunning, and the area is peaceful, scenic, and very safe for walking around and exploring. The city is a bit far, so you’ll need to arrange transportation, though the staff are super helpful with organizing it. We absolutely love coming back whenever we can. It’s the kind of place that stays in your heart.

The food turned out to be a really good surprise. It’s a beautiful estate quite close to the beach, with a very soothing atmosphere.

The massages were fantastic and inexpensive, and our kids loved the friendly house cat. The property was very clean, and the food and service onsite were top notch. It’s a short, scenic walk to the beach and tiki bar.
