The location is brilliant and the rooms are really good. Most of the staff are friendly, helpful, and happy to answer questions, though you do get a few long faces now and then. Overall, a great place.

The resort is decent overall. The meals were tasty and generous, and the staff service was good, though some staff were a little rude. The WiFi was terrible, and I couldn't connect anywhere apart from reception. It really should work throughout the property. Some towels were late from our first day, and we had to ask at 8 p.m. and wait. Pool towels weren't available either. For the price, it's a good place, but they should improve the amenities, including body soap, shampoo, and towels, and address the damp smell in some rooms. The pool, jacuzzi, and nearby toilets were clean, and the liquor was good quality. The pool tables were in terrible condition, though. With the money they make, they should refurbish them or buy new ones.

The pool is huge, the views are amazing, and the staff are friendly and very nice. The rooms are comfortable with balconies, refrigerators, and AC, and the meals are healthy and delicious. The beaches nearby are beautiful too. My fiancée and I walked along the beach to the Mendihuaca river, a lovely little town a couple of miles away where the river meets the ocean. I recommend the walk. I would stay here again, though I'd bring bug spray because mosquitoes got my legs pretty badly. The main thing to know is that the rooms are timeshares owned by different people, so there's no consistency. Our owner's room was well cared for, but others may not be as diligent about cleanliness and amenities. Some of the other bad reviews may reflect that. There are some frustrating limits. Meals included in the package are only available during a 90-minute window, and if you miss it, you don't get the meal, though you can ask for it to go. The included drinks are more like small shots than normal servings. I understand the resort wants to save money, but I think they should serve normal-size drinks and cut costs elsewhere. You can buy extra food and drinks, though after paying for the resort it feels like an added expense. A stay of more than two nights isn't too expensive. You can't bring in your own food or liquor unless you pay for it. They're not too strict, but if they see it, they'll make you leave it in the car. There was soap in the shower but no shampoo. The rooms don't have wifi, and there's only intermittent wifi in reception. That was a big issue for me, and I can imagine it being a problem for anyone working remotely. Claro is the only phone service that works there, so get a Claro SIM card beforehand if needed.

I'm only on the first day of a three-day stay, and it's already been a terrible experience. Don't pay for the food and drink package. They took my money but the food has been awful, and the included bar drinks are the worst. They're only available for four hours, from 3 to 7 p.m. The staff have bad attitudes and are rude to guests who have already paid. The food was so bad I bought a 53,000 steak, smaller than my fist, and it was the nastiest meat I've ever had. Terrible chef. They also booked a wedding during my stay, so there has been no peace and quiet, just music blasting and vibrating through the whole room. Don't come here, it's a waste of money.

We got some much-needed downtime at Mendihuaca, and the people and service were wonderful. While the kids enjoyed the pool, we were able to rest. The scenery was beautiful, and the breeze off the beach was amazing. We also visited nearby towns and bought fresh local food and fruit. The beach was rougher, so we didn't enjoy it as much, but we loved every moment of this relaxed dream vacation.
