Hotel La Palma Centro Histórico

Right in the heart of Santa Marta, with everything nearby. It’s a beautiful place with excellent service, and the room was excellent quality, especially for foreigners who aren’t sure what to expect. 10 out of 10 for the hotel.

There are only a few small rooms, so the hotel has a pleasant, intimate feel. It’s right in central Santa Marta, which was perfect for exploring, and the price for the quality is excellent. The staff were great and very accommodating, even helping with our laundry when we were having a bit of trouble. I recommend it!

After a day of sightseeing, the pool is a nice extra for relaxing with a cold beer and taking a dip before heading out for the evening. The hotel is a peaceful spot in the heart of Santa Marta’s historic center, with the pedestrian walkway practically right outside. Excellent location.

The hotel could be better, even though some parts were nice. My room was next to the patio, and I could hear reception staff chatting with other guests there during the day. At 6 am on the last night, I even heard one of them make a phone call and could follow the whole conversation. She was talking about a banana plantation, which also worried me. The room lighting was warm and very dim, so as someone who wears glasses, I found it hard to see. There’s no sign on the hotel either. We drove past several times and couldn’t find it.
