Hotel Olas Del Mar

Clean and quiet, and a nice place 😉

Really spectacular.

The staff were the best part of our stay. They were warm, helpful, and attentive the whole time. My mother and I stayed from December 31st to January 4th, 2026, and the hotel was generally peaceful. It’s small and has a pool, though we didn’t use it. Our room was on the small side, but the beds were comfortable, the air conditioning worked, and it was cleaned daily. Breakfast was the same each morning: scrambled eggs, arepa, a small roll, and packaged juice. A bit more variety, especially fresh juice, would’ve been nice. Rodadero beach itself felt neglected and was very crowded, which made it unpleasant. A few nearby streets also smelled bad, apparently because of sewage issues. The hotel is around a 20-minute walk from central Rodadero, but that didn’t bother us since swimming there wasn’t our plan. We went to a different beach each day instead, including Playa Cristal, Bahía Concha, and Playa Blanca.

The restaurant was a highlight for me. I tried both breakfast and lunch, and the food was delicious, more like home cooking. If a tour means you’ll miss the 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm lunch service, let them know ahead of time and they can pack a meal. The restaurant team were friendly too. Rooms are comfortable and nicely kept, with air conditioning, a small fridge, a closet, and a bathroom. Some have balconies. The ones facing the main road can get noisy at night when party buses go by. Check-in is at 12 noon. Staff around the hotel were helpful, and the areas stayed very clean. The place is airy, with a lobby, reception, restrooms, restaurant, and three floors of rooms. There’s a pool as well, but I couldn’t use it because it was being repaired. It’s usually open from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. The hotel sits on the main road through Rodadero, near restaurants, Arrecife Shopping Center, D1 and Ara supermarkets, and plenty of pharmacies. Puerto Gaira Beach is about five blocks away and I recommend it. Rodadero Beach takes roughly 10-15 minutes on foot.
