Hotel Olas Marinas Inn

A simple, clean, pretty place with really nice staff and a good location. I liked the pool area too, it was well maintained. Dinner was the one thing I’d change, the meals felt a bit heavy at night. Still, it’s a good choice if you want to get good value for your money.

The worst part of the room was the mattress. It sank as soon as you sat down and made sleeping uncomfortable. The rooms were otherwise okay, but the A/C didn’t work, and there wasn’t a technician in the building until the next day. We were left trying to rest in summer-like heat before a day of sightseeing. The coffee maker by the entrance was always covered up. Food was another letdown. There wasn’t much variety, portions were tiny, and the kitchen crew said they only prepared a set amount, so arriving an hour after dinner started meant getting whatever was left. The bus tour included through Marina Travel was a fiasco too. The driver was old, nobody kept the group engaged or explained the stops and places we passed, the music was awful, and the bus nearly broke down midway through. The day at Playa Blanca was the one good part: it was relaxing, the view was immaculate, and the food was worth it. We’d been told by the travel agency we would stay at Brisas Marinas, but ended up at this hotel instead. I was very disappointed with my stay in Santa Marta.
