Tayrona Angel Lodge

The breakfast was painfully slow. There were only 9 guests, and everyone came just before 7am, but the last person didn't get food until 7:50. The top floor rooms are very nice, though, and so is the pool. The hotel is close to the Tayrona park entrance.

The staff were so helpful during our New Year's stay. We forgot a phone charging adaptor, and although there was only one pharmacy and a couple of small restaurants nearby, they went all the way into the city to buy us a charger. The room was good and the AC worked perfectly. A couple of things weren't great: hardly any water came out of the shower, and the stone bathroom floor didn't feel clean since it must be difficult to clean between the stones. Breakfast is a prepared plate, so if you want to eat early you need to get there early or wait in line.

We only booked two nights at Tayrona’s Angel Lodge, but would've happily stayed longer. It's a simple hotel in a perfect spot, just a 3 minutes walk from “Taquilla El Zaino”, the entrance to Tayrona National Park. The pool was a big help in the heat, and the staff were incredibly friendly. We ate dinner there both nights, and both meals were freshly made and really tasty. There are a few food options on the main nearby if you'd rather go out. Great quality for the price. If you're visiting the park, book here. Thanks, guys.

The hotel's location was great, just a couple of steps from Tayrona Park, and the new owners welcomed us very kindly when management changed the day we arrived. I hope they can make the place better, because we were extremely disappointed and left a day early instead of staying our planned 3 nights. There were stains on the walls, floor, sheets, and towels. Dust covered the overhead fan, which didn't work, and the alternative ventilator was so loud we could hardly sleep. There were lots of insects in the bathroom and ants came in from the balcony. The shower barely trickled, the water wasn't hot, and the stone floor looked pretty but felt disgusting. We wore flip-flops to shower, imagining all the hair stuck in the stones. Some light fixtures weren't finished, and the bathroom door had a hole in it, like someone had punched it. If your room is on the ground floor, you'll hear everything and everyone because it's right beside the breakfast area. We just couldn't stand staying there any longer.
