The setting is beautiful, with a jungle-like feel, and I'd stay here again. Still, a few things in the room bothered me: the beds squeaked, the top bunk was awkward to get in and out of, the lights were dim, and the curtains let in more light than I wanted. The toilet had very little pressure and seemed to flush only once an hour. It's a nice place, but I'd change those things if I could.

The beautiful grounds were my favorite part. We arrived late after landing at San Jose airport and drove to this well-placed motel. An attendant was on duty and showed us to our room. Everything felt restful and immaculate. The breakfast and other meals were delicious and well prepared. It was also a handy base for visiting the La Paz waterfall gardens and recovering from a long flight. I highly recommend it.

Stayed one night, about 20 minutes from the airport. Quiet place, nice and quaint, with friendly, accommodating staff. I'd come back.

A peaceful little oasis away from the airport area, and we'd stay again. Depending on traffic, SJO is about 15-30 minutes away. The gardens are beautiful, and there's a small pool and a good breakfast. The rooms are nice, though a few things need attention: our lights flickered and the bunk beds squeaked. There's no free airport shuttle, so we booked an Uber.

We stayed the night before our flight out of San Jose, and the gated estate in the hills of Alajuela was quiet and pleasant. The little shared courtyard has a decent pool for cooling off, and it's easy to get into town. The airport is only 20-25 minutes away. Breakfast was included and good, with gallo pinto, cereal, plenty of fresh fruit, juice, and coffee.
