The condition of the room was awful. It was filthy and falling apart. The only working outlet was pulling out of the wall, held in place by two wires. The sheets were dirty, and there was hair from the previous guest on the pillow, which made me think the bedding hadn’t been changed. The showers were dirty too, everything was rusting and breaking down, and the floor felt like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. By 8:45 pm, the staff had already left, so there was no one onsite to speak to about the room. I got into bed wearing my clothes because of the dirty sheets, then had to listen to a pool party until 1:00 am. In the morning, I showed the staff the pictures I’d taken. They only said they’d talk to the cleaning lady. I left feeling like I needed a bath in hand sanitizer.

It was just okay, like the rating suggested. We brought our dog and made our own coffee. The place is really close to the beach, and there are CCTV cameras all around the yard. We saw big red parrots, lapas, very close by, and they were beautiful. But it was noisy at night, with people going up and down the wooden stairs around 11 pm and still playing on the second floor. There weren’t many power outlets. It was okay.

A good place to relax. The surf and beach are only a two-minute walk away. The rooms and beds are really comfortable, with hot showers and nice AC, and I slept so well. The staff are kind, cool, and helpful. There’s a handy shared kitchen, filtered water, and coffee, plus some good restaurants and cafés nearby.

Cockroaches, ants, and mosquitoes. If you’re after a swimming pool, this place may suit you, but it was the worst accommodation for us. It was impossible to reach the reception staff at first. Then they changed our room for no reason and put us in one with a gap above the door, letting all kinds of Costa Rican insects in. We found two cockroaches about a finger long on the bed, ants everywhere, and mosquitoes all night. We wanted to rent surfboards, but they gave us the wrong information about rentals. At $45 per person per night, I’d rather sleep on the beach.
