The trail was one of the best we’ve come across, and when we got back Roger brought us a refreshing juice. He also knows where to go in the area. Roger and Rosie were outstanding hosts, and the fresh breakfast was scrumptious. Everything about this place was beautiful and peaceful. We’ll be back!

Roger built and hand crafted the hotel himself, even the furniture, and his kindness really shines through. My kids adored him and kept talking about him for the rest of our two week trip, begging to come back. He also arranged amazing excursions for us, and he and his wonderful wife made phenomenal breakfasts with fresh juices every morning. Our family had such a wonderful experience at Malekus. Thanks for hosting us!

My wife and I built a family-run resort in Canada, so it was easy to see how much love the lovely couple have put into this property. It’s a real gem and a beautiful escape from the busy coast, with a taste of the real Costa Rica.

Great spot, with a delicious breakfast and a restaurant just 600m down the road that's really convenient.

The views and pool are fantastic, and it’s a great base for exploring nearby parks. Roger gave us lovely suggestions for hikes and things to do around the area. The breakfasts were varied and fabulous, with fresh fruit, eggs, and local specialties. Roger and his wife have created a beautiful, peaceful property in Aguas Claras, and they were such kind, hospitable hosts. Wish we could have stayed longer!
