Villa Margarita

Villa Margarita felt like a private sanctuary, with a fantastic pool and a garden full of lush greenery. The interior was modern and comfortable, with all the amenities we could ask for. A beautiful place to unwind and soak up the 'Pura Vida' lifestyle. We can't wait to return.

Breakfast was super fresh, made right in front of us in a cozy outdoor kitchen. Margarita was so attentive and made us feel at home. Our kids loveeed it here, especially the playground and scooters.

We were a family of four, two adults and two teens, and had a wonderful stay. There was loads of space for everyone in the large, comfortable rooms. The place is beautiful and charming, and the breakfast was amazing. Margarita welcomed us warmly, and the staff were great. We’d definitely come back, especially with family.

Margarit greeted us after our late arrival and was very friendly. She put us in a large family room instead of the smaller one I’d booked. It was beside the courtyard breakfast area, and on a windy night berries from a big tree kept hitting the metal pavilion roof all night. The room was already hot, so I’d wanted the windows and sliding door open to cool it, but the noise forced us to close them. The old, loud fan then made sleep difficult. There was no hot water when I showered that night or when my mother tried in the morning. We told Margarit we were unhappy, and she kindly offered to comp the room. I didn’t feel right accepting that, so we agreed on a lower amount instead. I was satisfied with that resolution at first, but after we loaded the car, she ran over saying there had been hot water, which we knew wasn’t true. It felt like she was implying we were lying or too dumb to turn the shower knob to hot. San Jose gets plenty hot. If you need a cool, quiet place to sleep and hot showers, this isn’t it.
