Lake Arenal Hotel & Brewery

The food was a highlight, both breakfast and dinner were phenomenal. For dinner, I'd recommend the Tuna Organic Bowl and Caribbean Chicken. We also enjoyed relaxing by the pool and jacuzzi, and visiting the goats, pigs, cows, sheep, and horses. The hotel is tucked away and has great Lake Arenal views. My one reservation was the shower, which only had lukewarm water.

The rooms were simple but clean, and everyone on staff was really friendly. We had a good breakfast and dinner, and the beer was decent too. My favorites were the chili beer, piña blonde, and pale ale. We only stayed one night, though another would have been nice. It's far enough off the highway to be quiet, and there was great birding on site and along the road. Our birding tour guide didn't show up, but they refunded us easily.

Veronica made the stay especially easy, answering emails quickly and being friendly and professional throughout. The rest of the staff also went out of their way to make us comfortable. We were impressed by how much care the team put into the details, and Veronica is a real credit to the hotel. The Lake Arenal Brewery and Hotel has a beautiful, peaceful setting, great views, and a welcoming feel. We left very impressed and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

We have a 2-year-old, so safe sleeping arrangements were essential. After checking directly with Lake Arenal Hotel, Brewery & Farm, I learned they couldn't provide a crib, an extra bed, or any other sleeping option for a toddler. Management wasn't willing to consider the safety concerns or offer any flexibility. The policy may say that cribs aren't available, but allowing young children to stay while providing no basic safe sleeping arrangement raises a serious concern for me. Parents should check this carefully before booking, since the property doesn't offer essential accommodations for young children.
