Rancho Pacifico Boutique Hotel for Adults

Viennay, Henry, and Jason were wonderful hosts, and the service was world class. Juan Pablo is a master in the kitchen, and the food may have been the best part of our whole trip. It was our first time on Costa Rica’s Pacific side, and we couldn’t have hoped for a better experience. The van ride from San Jose is extremely long, so do yourself a favor and fly to Quepos instead. It averages about $100 for a 15 minute flight, worth every penny. We had an amazing time and hope to come back.

The toucan treehouse was probably our favorite of the two rooms we stayed in. Its teak wood design and rainforest views made it feel like we were right in the forest. Both rooms were uniquely beautiful, and the views were incredible. Every chef meal was carefully made and superb. I had the quinoa waffles for breakfast every day, and they even made a birthday cake for my wife. The fitness room has what you need, including bands and a yoga mat. The yoga area is cool and set in the rainforest, and the view from the toucan deck was hard to beat when we stretched there. We loved swimming as the fog rolled in and out. Staff were on top of everything from the moment we arrived, and cleaned the rooms while we were at breakfast or out. A perfect place for a special visit, and worth the cost.

My wife and I spent three nights here for my birthday, after two and a half weeks in Costa Rica, and we’ve never been treated better. The service was always there and so thoughtful, without ever feeling overbearing. They even got me a pura vida ball cap for my birthday. Rancho Pacífico has set my new “Disney standard” for resort service. Thank you to the team!

The rooms are nice, but the food service needs to match a five star hotel. Breakfast and lunch were slow, and dinner was especially bad: after drinks and salad, we waited two hours for the food. Customers who arrived 30 minutes later got their plates at the same time as us. The road to the place is very steep and rocky. It seemed like only one person was preparing food for the whole hotel.
