Bungalows Paraíso Celeste

The owner was great and kept checking by email to see if we needed anything. I slept really well, and the cool weather was perfect without A/C. There are two fans if needed. The rain can be loud, though maybe you’ll get different weather. The owner put bananas out for the birds in the morning, which was the best surprise. Once you know which trees the toucans and aracari like, you can spot them all day, along with lots of other pretty birds and hummingbirds. We also did the neat hiking trail out back. The place is just the right size and has everything you need: a full kitchen, coffee maker, fridge, hot plate, and sink. I’m still dreaming about our stay and definitely want to go back!

The mountain views were stunning, and within five minutes of arriving we spotted a toucan in a tree. The facilities are simple but nicely done, with excellent workmanship on the floors and sliding door. There’s comfortable outdoor seating and a functional kitchenette. It’s a great base for the area and good value. Francisco was a wonderful, friendly, responsive host. Highly recommend if you’re nearby.

There’s a great variety of plants and wildlife for anyone who loves the Costa Rican tropics, with lovely views at sunrise and sunset. I especially liked how close it is to Rio Celeste, the Natural Reserve, hot springs, and other activities. The owners were respectful and very attentive to what guests needed. Amazing place, and I’ll be back!

Even with rain for most of our three-night stay, we had a great time. You’re right in nature, with toucans, aracari, and Montezuma's just outside the living room deck. The owner was so nice when we arrived and as we left, and we felt very welcome and safe the whole time. There’s a kitchen, bathroom, and hiking trail behind the place, so we didn’t need anything else. Rio Celeste is maybe a 10-minute drive away, too. Pura Vida!
