We spent three nights here and loved it. The staff were great, and the big outdoor communal spaces are really relaxing. There's a well equipped kitchen and a large supermarket close by. I'd definitely recommend it.

The location is great, with an easy walk to the national park, and I'd stay here again. It's a no-frills hostel with the basics covered. The room was dim, but the bed was fantastic, even more comfortable than one at a hotel in Puerto Viejo that cost twice as much. The woman who checked me in was very kind and let me cancel my second night without charging me.

On our whirlwind trip around Costa Rica, my son and I stumbled on this funky hostel. The family who own and run it were so helpful and friendly. It feels like home while you're away from home.
