The garden and all the animals around it were a highlight of one of our best experiences in Costa Rica. The room was fine, nothing special, but fair. For us, Cahuita and the region are Costa Rica’s best travel destination. We met wonderful people and had a great time.

A beautiful beach, lovely grounds, and a private nature walk made this one of my favorite places in Costa Rica. We could walk to town, and the hosts were very attentive. We also enjoyed the outdoor kitchen by the pool. I’m so glad I found it, and highly recommend staying here.

The pool was great, and the beach was even closer than the food and music you could walk to. We saw more animals on the grounds than during the park walk. Perfect location.

The fresh water pool was lovely, and Playa Negra guesthouse had such an amazing vibe. The animal viewing was fantastic too. Wish we could’ve stayed longer.

Marise was a wonderful host, and the service was attentive. The grounds were immaculate, with plenty of wildlife in the yard, and the pool was pristine. Our room was comfortable and thoughtfully arranged, simple but with everything we needed and nothing extra. The fridge was just the right size. We stayed in June, and two fans kept the room cool enough for us, so we didn’t mind the lack of air conditioning. The location away from the village center was a plus for us. It’s a short walk, and at a vacation pace you can get anywhere in under 15 minutes.
