I don't get all the negative reviews. There were only four people in the 10-bed dorm, and the fan was powerful, so the heat wasn't as bad as people made it sound. The rooms are small, and at $15 a night it's a bit pricey, but the hostel is clean and the kitchen is well equipped. Lockers and private parking are free too.
The price doesn't feel worth it. The rooms are extremely small, and the shared areas are cramped. There's no privacy because the wall between the room and bathroom is open at the top, and bathroom smells drift into the room.
The staff are lovely, and the kitchen is amazing. The rooms were super clean, and the shower was the best I've ever seen in a hostel. The place has amazing vibes and is close to everything you need, including the supermarket, beach, and national park. Without a doubt, one of THE NICEST hostels I've EVER stayed in. I highly recommend it if you're visiting Cahuita!
Being so close to the national park was great, and you could see and hear lots of animals. The bathrooms were always really clean. My room was fine, though it smelled a little moldy, which I guess is normal for a wooden house. Humidity was really high during my vacation, so everything in the house felt kind of clammy. One night it rained heavily, and the path to the bathrooms had no roof, so I got really wet. I think it's a nice place to stay if it's not raining.
We saw a sloth on the night we arrived! The location is good, and everything is very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the shared bathrooms were amazing, even the toilet paper 🤩 Pura vida 🇨🇷
