My dog was attacked by two Belgian Shepherds who live on the property, and the injuries were serious enough to need immediate veterinary care. I chose this place because it was advertised as pet-friendly, so the experience was traumatic and completely unexpected. The dogs' owner was rude and disrespectful to me. Neither she nor the host has replied to any of my messages. There’s been no apology, help, or acceptance of responsibility, just silence and indifference. As a responsible dog owner, I never thought this would happen at a place claiming to welcome pets. I strongly advise people to stay away. Even if you don't travel with pets, the lack of empathy, accountability, and professionalism from the host and dog owner makes the place feel deeply unreliable and unsafe. No guest should have to face this kind of negligence or disregard for basic responsibility.

We had warm days around 27°C (80°F) with cool breezes, and nights could get down to about 13°C (55°F). The view was limited, with Cartago often cloudy at night and city light pollution hiding most stars, even during a new moon, so stargazing depends on luck. The dome was clean and well organized, and the kitchen had the basics, though the knife was dull and there was only enough cutlery for two. The water temperature stayed good, with plenty of hot water. A small window lets natural light fall right on the bed, making naps difficult unless you cover it, which takes away from the look of the room. The low quality bed frame was noisy, especially disruptive if you're a light sleeper. Breakfast was tasty and kept us satisfied until lunch. There was confusion over the wine: we thought it was included in the package we paid for, but only learned the next day that it cost extra. We had asked for wine at 7pm and got no answer until the following day. The hosts were hard to reach across communication channels. When the gate malfunctioned, we waited 20 minutes without hearing from them. The host later confirmed the gate was the problem. There’s a functional, clean sauna on the deck, but it takes about 40 minutes for the water to reach a usable level. The couch's light foam padding also made it uncomfortable to sit for long. Overall, there are some good points, but be aware of the communication problems, comfort issues, and limited views.

The view is amazing, and the host was excellent. Everything was clean and luxurious, and any type of car can make it here. From the property you can drive to Irazu Volcano, either Prussia Park or the main crater, visit the ruins of Cartago, or try the local cuisine.

A perfect view, friendly hosts, and delicious breakfast made this an amazing place for a relaxing weekend.

The view is nice and the location is good, but the place felt neglected and short on maintenance for what it costs. My experience didn't meet expectations. The glamping site I got wasn't the one I'd booked. They later agreed to move us, but since I'd paid extra for birthday decorations, we had to clean everything and remove all the decorations as requested because they said another guest was waiting. No one ever showed up. They also didn't make the change I requested when booking, which was to substitute sangria for the wine. They offered to send a pizza to make up for the trouble, but it never came and nobody explained why. I hope they improve these things.
