Secret Bungalows Lechu

Wow, what a beautiful place. The rooms feel modern and cozy, with air conditioning, a hot tub, and a small kitchenette. The fridge is a little bigger than a mini-fridge. It has a slightly romantic feel, but works just as well for friends or family. I went with a friend. Nature surrounds you, and you hear so many birds and cicadas. I'm not a bird watcher, but it seems ideal for anyone who is. Honestly, it's perfect.

Bungalow 4 felt wonderfully secluded, like a luxury stay in the jungle. The room had a mini kitchenette, a huge bathroom, lovely wooden floors, and a very comfortable bed. Outside there was a built-in hot tub that felt natural, plus a hammock. They also provide weights and yoga mats. We were told the tub needed two hours to heat, but it felt warm enough after 15-30 minutes. The views were incredible, with trees, greenery, and lots of birds. They said sloths live in some of the trees, but we didn't spot one during our two nights. Ask which trees to watch. Breakfast was another highlight, served at a neighboring villa about five minutes away. You can message your order and preferred time on WhatsApp the night before. The dining spot was beside a farm, surrounded by nature. Eder and Candy were great hosts and really helpful. One location note: the bungalows are 20 minutes south of La Fortuna, handy for Maquique tours canyoning, La Fortuna waterfall, and El Salto rope swing. For Arenal Volcano hikes, Mistico hanging bridges, or Sky Adventure ziplining, it's a longer 40-50 minute drive, so we skipped those.

My husband and I spent three nights at Secret Bungalows Lechu on our Costa Rica trip, and having our own bungalow was just what we wanted. The property was beautiful and felt very private. Finding it was easy, and communication was great. Our room was a good size, with a very spacious balcony. We saw loads of birds, plants, and flowers. Breakfast was delicious, a short three-minute drive away at another hotel's restaurant, where the grounds were also full of plants and birds. We liked being able to relax and bring food back for dinner. I'd definitely recommend Secret Bungalows Lechu.

A peaceful, romantic getaway with a private hot tub, an outdoor shower, and a really comfortable bed. The bungalow is tucked away from the crowds but still only about 15 minutes from La Fortuna, where we booked tours and found some great restaurants. The staff were welcoming and answered our questions within minutes. Such a great stay, and we're excited to book again. Pura Vida!
