Colina Secreta - Glamping and Villas

There was good, steady water pressure and plenty of hot water, which you can’t always count on in Costa Rica. Breakfast was delicious, and the service was top notch. The terrace and bedroom views and sounds were breathtaking, and we hardly wanted to leave our tent. It was charming, with beautiful furniture and a theme in each tent. We loved this glamping lodge in its lush jungle setting, like being in Out of Africa but in Costa Rica. Many tents have a small kitchen, which we highly recommend if you want to cook fish on your terrace. We love the place and will return for a longer stay. One suggestion from us is more comfortable terrace seating, especially for older guests like us who want to sit, read, and watch wildlife.

The breakfast was a highlight, and if we’d known how good it was, we would have stayed much longer. Colina Secreta is in a beautiful area, with lovely decorated, well maintained accommodation. The staff were outstanding, so sweet and caring. We’ll be back soon.

The staff knew a lot about nature, history, and culture, and were very helpful. The family running the place seemed friendly too, and chatted with several guests. Waking up to the jungle was incredible and gave us magical memories. The whole experience felt immersive, but the rooms were comfortable, clean, and free of bugs. Bring good earplugs if you want to sleep past 5am.

We stayed in the Kipling tent, with its distinctive imperial style. Every morning we woke to toucans and howler monkeys, then had a lovely breakfast in the peaceful outdoor restaurant. The staff were so nice and really cared about making our stay enjoyable. Receptionist Manuel knew all our names. It was a perfect place to begin our holiday, and one of the nicest hotels we’ve visited anywhere in the world.
