Casa Gitana Hostel

The garden is beautiful, and a flower-lined track leads down to a stunning beach that feels pretty private. We could see how much care they put into the place. Our rooms were cleaned every day and we got fresh towels. Everything was well organized, including transport, and we couldn’t have been happier. The Corcovado tour was amazing too, with lots of animals and a friendly, professional guide. This has been the most pleasant stop on our Costa Rica journey so far.

Edith was the shining star at Hotel Gitana, such a gracious and helpful host. Jonathan, her husband, sorted out our tours and was patient and kind even though we left the planning until the last minute. We had a great stay. The hotel is lovely and quiet, with a beautiful garden in the middle to enjoy as you come and go. Jonathan and Edith are fantastic. They helped me book several tours, including a private night tour and a snorkeling trip to replace one that was cancelled the night before. The food was great too. I highly recommend staying here if you’re heading to Drake Bay.

This is a great family-run hotel and restaurant near Drake Bay. Jonnathon and the staff are friendly and outgoing, and he gets along well with local business and restaurant owners. We took almost every tour offered, and they were all wonderful. The Corcovado National Park hikes and snorkeling were especially good, with very capable guides who helped us spot birds and animals we otherwise wouldn’t have seen. The beach is across the road and has the best sunsets around. It’s a lovely place to relax and get to know a bit of beautiful Costa Rica.
