Hotel Samoa del Sur

The rooms and location, with their nice views, were great, and I was feeling very positive about the stay until checkout day. My family of four and I were taking turns leaving the pool around 11 am to shower before the noon checkout. To my surprise, the water had been shut off. I went to the front desk, then spent almost an hour being sent around the hotel to ask different people to turn it back on. Once the water came back, we continued getting ready. My last family member got out of the pool at 12:05. We hurried, and I told the receptionist we wouldn’t be ready by noon. At 12:30 someone knocked while my last family member was still dressing. We said we were nearly ready, but less than five minutes later they knocked again, complaining and looking annoyed, as if we should all have showered together to leave by noon. It’s really sad to have ended up with this service experience.

Music from the gym starts waking you up at 6 am, and the woman at reception tried to scam me twice. Horrible service. I’d never go back.

The grounds have frogs, iguanas, and birds, which is nice, and I was happy with the property, pool, room, view, and nearby grocery store for water. But on a Tuesday night I couldn’t sleep after a long day because of loud bass music from the clubs. It started around 9:45 pm, and at 10:30 it was still going. I wasn’t expecting it to end soon. Without that noise, this would’ve been a four or five star review.

The restaurant was phenomenal. I had eggs, rice, beans, and fruit for breakfast, and the swordfish at dinner was the best I’ve ever had. I ordered it two nights in a row. The place itself felt clean, warm, and inviting, and the staff were so accommodating. We got fresh towels and a made bed every day, and one day they even shaped towels into animals on our beds. Thanks for making the stay so delightful 😁😁😁
