The neighborhood in San Jose is lovely, with lots of tasty restaurants nearby. It can get a bit noisy, but I slept like a baby with earplugs and an eye mask. I felt very safe, the beds were comfortable, and the rooms and bathrooms were clean. There isn't any on-site staff, which felt unusual at first, but everything ran smoothly and the price was great.

For my one night in San José, staying here was the right choice. It's an easy walk from Barrio Escalante and great value. The rooms are small, but work perfectly for a short stay. Everything was clean and comfortable, with bathroom supplies, towels, and a hair dryer provided. Self check-in was efficient, and they replied quickly and helpfully on WhatsApp. I'd highly recommend this well-kept hostel.

There’s no reception or host, which is the one thing to keep in mind. I hope the Owner reconsiders, since having someone there would add to the stay. Still, this women's only hostel is where I'll stay whenever I'm in San Jose. I've been twice for a week each time, and it's been excellent in every way, the best hostel I've stayed at. The location is central to everything I wanted to do, and I felt safe. This time I also got a pedicure from a woman with 20 years of experience. She did a great job for a reasonable price. I've stayed here three separate times for a night, and each time it felt welcoming, like home. The team was so kind and helpful. They let me leave some of my belongings a couple of times, and were always friendly and quick to respond. Automated check-in also made everything easy. The place is very clean, with comfortable beds and hot showers. There's even a TV with Disney+/Netflix/Prime. It's just right for a night or two before exploring Costa Rica. A huge thank you to the whole team.
