Bamboo Surf House - Hostel

Dreamsea Surf House in Playa Hermosa Santa Teresa had such a friendly, family-like feel. We ate dinner together, relaxed in the chill areas, and had fun activities afterward. The staff were lovely and supportive, always easy to ask when we needed something, and they also organized daily tours and activities. The surf coaches were very professional. They gave us a thorough introduction to the surf site, then shared useful, high-quality feedback to help us improve. 11/10 stars. Special thanks to Laura, Clara and Marcos 🫶🏽

At 50, I wondered if I'd be treated as “the old one,” but age didn't matter at Dreamsea Surf Camp. The group was a great mix, and we surfed, ate, and spent time together around our shared love of adventure. You could join as much or as little as you wanted. The food was better than I expected and thoughtfully covered different dietary needs, including my gluten-free diet. Yoga helped stretch us out after long days in the water, and there were also ice baths, beach volleyball, waterfall hikes, and table games. The staff were welcoming, engaged, and always around. The coaching is especially good. As a sports instructor, I know a bit about teaching, and the approach here was excellent. All the coaches gave consistent, supportive guidance and knew the local tides and how they affect Playa Hermosa's break. Equipment was well selected, and surfers were matched to the right part of the lineup for their ability. Kenneth and the team met people where they were, from total beginners to those aiming to progress, while keeping it fun. The camp is a two-minute walk through the jungle to the beach, a lovely path through the palms. Playa Hermosa is a quiet village, a welcome change from busy, touristy Santa Teresa. There's a cheap bus or a quick $20 taxi into town, though I preferred the laid-back feel nearby. If you're after strong coaching in a relaxed, welcoming environment, just book it. Pura Vida! 🌊

A beautiful camp, very close to a lovely beach, with great food and really friendly staff. The surf spot worked perfectly for beginners and intermediate surfers. We had an amazing stay and would definitely recommend it.

I enjoyed it so much that I extended my stay twice because I didn't want to leave. The manager, volunteers, and staff keep things running smoothly and make everyone feel welcome. There's positive energy every day, and you quickly feel part of one big family, whether you're surfing, joining activities, or just relaxing. It's also easy to have time to yourself when you want it. For me, it's one of the best places to surf, have fun, and meet wonderful people from around the world. Jefferson is the best coach. I'll definitely be back!
