Ricky was awesome and really accommodating. He knows the area well and helped us figure out activities. He also has great connections with local businesses, so talk to him before arranging tours or renting surf gear. We stayed here during the off-season for my birthday, and they moved us to a better room for free when they found out. The rooms were comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well. The beach is about 50 yards away, with the downtown strip just around the corner. There’s a small courtyard pool, though nobody used it with the beach so close. We had a couple of power cuts while we were there. The hotel runs on solar power, and the outages were brief, so they didn’t change my opinion of the place. It’s a gem right by Jaco Beach, and I’d highly recommend it. I’ll stay again if I make it back to Jaco.

The included breakfast is served at a restaurant 10-15 minutes away on foot. It was okay, but nothing special. Even so, this was one of the best places I stayed during a seven-month trip, and I definitely recommend it. The rooms were amazing, the manager was very friendly and helpful, and we got a free upgrade to a deluxe room because it wasn’t being used. The beach is only about 50 meters away.

Hotel Tuanis is about four blocks from the beach, at the edge of the strip. We felt safe the whole time and really enjoyed our stay. There’s a small pool to cool off in, and the owner is very conscious about the environment, using solar panels to power the building. My husband, our 16-year-old daughter, and I stayed in an upstairs apartment with two rooms. Both bedrooms had air conditioning, so sleeping was comfortable. It also had a refrigerator, a gas oven and stove, and cooking and eating utensils. The owner was amazing and helped us find whatever we needed, from restaurants to tours and activities.

The private pool is just the right size, and there’s night security. Guests are welcomed, and the rooms have air conditioning and Wi-Fi. The living room is spacious. It’s right off the main strip and close to the beach. I’ve visited Costa Rica several times and stayed in hostels and private apartments. This place is definitely the best value for the money. I’d absolutely stay again.

Ricky, the owner, was friendly and went out of his way to help. He grew up in LA, so he understands what tourists need. I had a fantastic four-night stay in great rooms, right on the beach.
