Coati Arenal Lodge

We had the worst two hotel nights we've ever experienced at Coati Lodge Arenal. We've never left a bad review before, but felt we should warn people. It's really noisy, between two busy streets and lots of barking dogs. WiFi was supposed to be in every room, but didn't work in ours; we were told to go outside and down the hall to connect. The security gates were impractical. You need a code to enter the parking lot, which was fine, but then have to leave that gate and go through another to reach your room. Forget something in the car and that's two gates to deal with. The gate to the rooms was very hard to open and took several tries and some muscle. I'd look for somewhere else to stay in La Fortuna.

It's new and clean, and the staff are very helpful. Since it's right downtown, it may not be the place for a long, peaceful stay. But if you want to be near shops, restaurants, tour operators and music, it's a good place to start.

Great value and super clean, right in the middle of the village. The people are friendly, helpful, and on top of whatever you need. First-rate place to stay. I'd love to come back.

The owner was very pleasant and took care of a few room issues, then apologized. Prices during the holiday season weren't bad. The staff were helpful, especially Felipe, who was always there when I needed him.
