We stayed a few nights in June 2019, and it was a peaceful getaway near the volcano. The spot is beautiful and quiet, with lots to do nearby. We went to Sky Adventures and drove around the nearby lake, and found some good places to eat too. The rooms are simple, but cozy and an absolute steal. The owners were very friendly, and breakfast was delicious, home-cooked, and $5. The roughly 200-meter dirt and grass driveway was bumpy and muddy, though the roads getting there were otherwise quite well paved.

It's recommended to have a car for convenience. We loved being away from the busy town while still close to the major attractions. The view of the Arenal volcano is incredible, and the property is beautifully tended. Staff were welcoming and friendly. The accommodations were adequate and good value. The rooms aren't fancy, but they do the job as a safe, comfortable place to rest.

I've stayed here twice and hope to return. The cabinas have everything you'd hope for, and the showers are great. The views of Arenal are spectacular, and the whole place feels homey. It's away from the bustle of La Fortuna, but still close to everything. The owner, Karen, is very warm.

Breakfast is included, with typical "gallo pinto" as well as jam and toast. Our room was really nice, with a stunning rainforest and volcano view, though bad weather meant we couldn't see the volcano completely. The owners are really kind and gave us lots of advice on what to see and the best activities in the nearby little towns. I really enjoyed the stay and would definitely come back!

Being able to listen to lava flowing at night from your room was amazing for a small-town girl from iowa. I spent two weeks here in 2006, when I was a student assigned to a "rural stay" away from the capital. It was the highlight of my three months in Costa Rica. The family was amazing, the grounds were well kept, and the food was amazing. I loved the place and the people, and hope I can return one day soon. This is a hidden gem and something everyone should do when visiting Costa Rica!
