Hotel Eco Arenal

The mattresses urgently need replacing. We could feel every spring, and the room was small for the four of us. The bathroom setup wasn’t normal either, the basin was right beside the bed. The rooms were basic but nicely decorated, and the garden and pool were lovely in a very quiet area. There wasn’t anything for kids to do besides swim, and breakfast was the same basic selection all four mornings.

The grounds were beautiful, the rooms clean and nice to look at, and breakfast was great and free. We had a booking.com mix-up that was hard to sort out, so I’d suggest booking directly with the hotel. Otherwise, it was just what we needed and a great stay. Pickleball fans should know there are covered courts a few blocks down the street.

The AC was nice, and the room itself was okay, but there was a leak in the ceiling that left a puddle beside my bed. The worst part, though, was the woman at the front desk. I asked for another towel and she rudely told me no and to come back later because she was busy. I’ve never had someone in hospitality be so unpleasant over such a small request.

Laura, the owner, and Dylan at reception were especially lovely, and they gave us some great recommendations. The whole staff was friendly, the room was very clean, and the AC worked well. Breakfast was super tasty, too. It’s only a few minutes from town, where there are plenty of delicious lunch and dinner spots. We had a wonderful stay at Eco Arenal Hotel.
