La Fortuna Downtown Boutique Hotel

The hotel is in a perfect spot near many tourist attractions, and they can arrange tours with bus pickup right at the hotel. Staff were extremely pleasant, the rooms were clean, and there were great choices at breakfast. I’d definitely stay here again.

The location was the best part of my April 18-21 2026 stay. Bars, restaurants, and shops were close, most things were walkable, and many tours picked us up at the hotel. Breakfast was very good, and the rooms could use some updating. Most of the staff were extremely professional. I especially liked the bar staff at Selva Negra, particularly Reynaldo, who was professional and very polite. Alex at reception was also professional and always had a quick smile or joke. But on the evening of Saturday April 18th, I asked a front desk staff member for towels because we had an early morning Sunday and housekeeping had already left. I can’t remember his name. He wouldn’t give me clean towels until I handed over the dirty ones, and stood at our room door to make sure I gave him two before he gave me two clean ones. That felt highly disrespectful and uncalled for. I’ve asked for extra towels at many hotels and never been treated that way. Most of the staff were great and the location is so good, so it’s a nice hotel to stay at in La Fortuna. I don’t usually write reviews, but that incident really rubbed me the wrong way.

Bryan at the front desk was especially kind and professional, and gave us great recommendations. The service was awesome throughout, with friendly, accommodating front desk staff. We were a family of two adults and two kids, and the hotel worked well for us. It’s in central La Fortuna, within walking distance of restaurants, tourist shops, and other places around town. Rooms on the main street can get traffic noise, especially on weekends, so ear plugs may help. I’d absolutely stay here again.

We arrived tired and hungry after a long drive, and although the restaurant was about to close, the staff kindly made us food to take to our room. We were very grateful. The staff were top-notch and helped us book nearby activities, and we had a great time. The breakfast and restaurant food were delicious, and the location is handy for getting around. We absolutely recommend the hotel and will definitely be back with my kids 😊.
