We almost got a good look at the volcano one day. The location is great too, quiet at night but only a two-minute walk from the busy main street. We stayed three nights in a standard room. It was definitely small, but totally fine since we were out and about all day, and the bathroom was huge. The a la carte breakfast was amazing every day. The staff were super kind and easy to reach on WhatsApp. They went above and beyond, helping us order pizza, lending us umbrellas, and making a dinner reservation. We had such a great stay!

The location made it easy to walk to restaurants and good coffee, and we even found a running route with amazing Arenal volcano views. Our room was spacious and had a patio. Melanie greeted us as soon as we arrived and was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and full of information. We really enjoyed the lodge, especially the top-notch breakfast, and would happily stay again.

La Fortuna Lodge was a lovely base, close enough to walk anywhere I needed in ten minutes or less, but away from the busiest part of town. The indoor-outdoor setting and surrounding scenery were beautiful, and I had a king bed, fridge, safe, TV, a roomy bathroom, and a patio facing the volcano. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were so pleasant and helpful, even arranging transport and following up when needed. Just keep in mind you’re in the jungle: I saw geckos, a few small red ants, and one cockroach. Part of the adventure!

The included breakfast was very good, à la carte, and available early for guests heading out on excursions. We found the rooms comfortable, and the deluxe room’s large balcony was lovely, with a possible view of Arenal if you get lucky. The hotel is a short walk from busy Main Street, but the property itself was quiet and secure, with good parking. Melanie at the front desk gave us a warm welcome and was delightful throughout our stay.

The breakfast was delicious, and the coffee made for a great start to the day. Our room was comfortable and clean, with a good spot in town. The staff were really nice and helpful. We were very happy staying here and would come back.
