We came to the Springs resort and spa for our honeymoon, and it was an incredible experience. The views are beautiful, there are so many hot springs, and the food is amazing. Breakfast was buffet style with lots of options. For dinner, I had one of the best meals of my life, Caribbean jerk chicken with coconut plantain risotto. I’m home now and still dreaming about it! We had a small mix-up with a room package we’d paid for. At first my husband went to the front desk, but the woman he spoke with was focused on other people checking in and was dismissive, even after he explained that I was upset. Back in our room, I called and she said they’d fix it. They did, and it turned out great. The rest of the staff were amazing. They recognized that we were celebrating our honeymoon and congratulated us, and always said hello when they were nearby. They were friendly and let my husband practice his Spanish. Thank you for your hospitality, Esteban and Juan Carlos!

The hot springs were a standout, with pools at different temperatures, lovely views of Arenal Volcano, and enough room that it didn’t feel crowded. There’s also plenty to do around the property, from the wildlife sanctuary, kayaking and hiking trails to spa treatments, the fitness center and dining options. We could easily have stayed busy for days without going anywhere else. Everything was spotless and well cared for, including the rooms, pools, restaurants and paths. The staff were warm, professional and quick to help with requests. It’s definitely expensive, but the service, setting, facilities and overall feel made the price worth it for me. I’d recommend it to couples, families or anyone after a luxury stay in Arenal.

The resort is beautiful, with impressive views of Arenal Volcano, and the grounds are well maintained. There are lots of activities, though you have to take a shuttle to reach most of them. Our room was comfortable, if a little dated for what we paid. Most staff were friendly, and everyone spoke English, which made things easy for us as U.S. travelers. The biggest letdown was how management handled a serious problem. On our second-to-last night, our son became violently ill after eating seafood at the resort. He vomited all night and missed our last full day, which was also my wife’s birthday. We told the concierge the next morning and were assured several times that management would contact us, but nobody did. At checkout, the front desk didn’t know about it, so we had to go through the story again before that dinner was comped. Food during the stay was inconsistent and mostly average for the price. At around $2,000 a night, I expected better communication and follow-up after something like this. Illness can happen anywhere, but the lack of response really disappointed us and changed how we felt about the resort.

Gorgeous property! We spent the day there, ate at Las Ventanas Restaurants and had a great time tubing at Club Rio. Everyone was really friendly and accommodating. The food and cocktails were delicious, and we enjoyed all the pools. The swim-up bar was great and the water was just right, though service there was a little slow. I hope I can come back someday.

The hot springs were our favorite part. We could relax while the kids jumped in and had the time of their lives. We also loved the club area, and riding horses together as a family was a highlight, especially for my son. Spring Resort is one of the best places I’ve stayed. The food is amazing, they have a great wine selection, and the views make the whole place feel extra special. We can’t wait to return!
