The view from our Vista Cabinas balcony was unbelievable, and waking up to it each morning was one of our favorite parts. We loved unwinding by the pool and meeting other travelers. Several people we met said it was their favorite stop of their whole trip, which we could understand. The place is clean, welcoming, and very well run, with a restaurant we really enjoyed and a shared kitchen and fridge for keeping our own food and drinks. Johnny was a wonderful host, friendly and accommodating throughout. He went out of his way to help with reservations and connections, and offered personal suggestions for things to do and places to see nearby. Breakfast each morning was delicious and filling, just what we needed before heading out. Keep in mind the walk up from downtown Montezuma is a short climb of about 200 meters, and there are more steps to reach some of the lodging areas. Guests need to be comfortable with that. We found the quiet setting and views worth it. We had a great stay and are already thinking about coming back next year.

The bungalow and its view were so lovely that we extended our stay to a week because we really didn't want to leave. We saw monkeys and squirrels in the trees, and the fans kept us comfortable enough that we never needed air conditioning. The shower was great, the bed was super comfortable, and breakfast was excellent. Johnny, who runs the place, was a gem. He went out of his way to help us with everything and even lent us a boogie board. We loved the whole place. One practical tip: if you arrive by shuttle or taxi boat with lots of luggage, ask to be dropped at the hotel since it's uphill. These services usually go to Montezuma and Santa Teresa, and the Santa Teresa shuttle will take you there if you ask.

My room was clean and beautiful, with a long ocean view and jungle all around. Through the big glass French doors, I could watch monkeys playing in the trees from the balcony, and even see the greenery moving in the breeze from bed when I woke up. The empanadas were incredible, too. I only stayed one night, but the staff were lovely and the other guests were friendly. Joni, the owner, was really helpful and accommodating. Town was just a five-minute walk, with a market and artists selling their work along the street. I'll be back.

The rooms were clean, though they could have been more comfortable with curtains on the windows. Even so, I had a really good time and would recommend staying here. The hosts were welcoming, the food was good, and I loved the natural setting and the friendly atmosphere around the pool.

Even though Luz is just a four-minute walk from Montezuma's shops, bars, restaurants, and beaches, it feels quiet and tucked away while still being full of life. The rooms were airy and clean, and the pool and deck were gorgeous places to relax. The staff treated me like family. They were accommodating when I showed up much earlier than expected, and after I came back from a 6 a.m. hike too late for breakfast, they gave me fruit without me even having to ask. The breakfast itself was fresh and delicious. Montezuma is a great place to be near for local and international culture, live music every night, good food, friendly people, and beautiful hikes and waterfalls without big crowds. Santa Theresa has a much busier nightlife just a short distance away. Luz is hands down the best hostel I've stayed in, and the price was excellent. Muchas muchas gracias!
