After several hours in the car, this little retreat was just what we needed to recover. There weren’t many hotel choices in the nearby town, and we felt lucky to find Mapi's. I slept better here than anywhere else on our vacation, and the air conditioner worked really well. The staff were helpful and pointed us toward a wonderful pizza place. I hope Mapi's keeps doing well.

The owners were very accommodating, and this place is unbelievably affordable. Our room was clean, the beds comfortable, and the shower had very hot water. There’s air conditioning, too. They sent me a download with lots of nearby things to see and do. It’s easy to find and only a few minutes from the ferry, with a mega super half a mile up the road. I’m glad we stayed here on our way to the Pacific coast of the Nicoya peninsula.

The office arranged taxis for our tours, and the service was wonderful. Our plans changed abruptly, but they replied quickly and made it easy. We were glad to be recommended to Mapi’s, and after we booked, they sent a really appreciative email. The rooms were clean, the air conditioning was a blessing, and the little pool was fine for a dip. Also, go pet the friendly white cat 🐈

For a night before our bio kayak tour and the ferry the next morning, this place had everything we needed. Parking was right outside our door, and there was AC, fresh linen, and hot showers. We spotted macaws and heard howler monkeys in the distance. They also keep hummingbird feeders and fresh fruit around.

The owners and staff made us feel so welcome, and we felt right at home. The location was convenient for getting to Paquera, and we’d gladly stay again. After paddling in the rain, the warm shower was comfortable, and the air conditioning could get ICE cold if you wanted. One thing to know is that the beds are on the firm side and weren’t great for sleeping on my side.
