We were there as a pair, and the apartment was comfortable enough, with a folding bed that could sleep two more. There’s a nice pool and shaded seating around a huge teak table. The villa sits right by the beach: cross the end of a small dirt road, pass a public palm strip for shade, and you’re on the sand. Luis and Martha keep the place neat and are helpful, even if your Spanish is limited. Other than January 1, the beach was nearly empty, especially in the morning. I’d absolutely recommend it.

We spent our days unwinding at Casa Amarilla, listening to the ocean and grilling snapper by the pool. It feels romantic and idyllic, with a lovely pool and a view straight out to sea. Every day, macaws fly over the house and settle in the almond trees on the property. The beach is usually almost yours alone, so walks with hardly anyone around feel like a real luxury. The owners and Marta were attentive and ready to help when needed. We’ll be back soon, and I highly recommend it.

I came with my family and we had such a good time. The hosts communicated wonderfully and shared some great suggestions. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed, with the beach close by and lovely for walks. I surf, so I also found it a handy base for waves in Esterillos, Jaco, and Playa Hermosa. I’d recommend staying here.

Getting to this Pacific beach retreat means taking an unpaved road, but the resort is surprisingly modern and spotlessly kept. It’s a real place to slow down and relax to the constant sound of the sea. When we left, all we could think was, when do we get to come back?

I’ve stayed at other places around here with my grown kids, and this gem was the best by far. The location can’t be beat, and everything was well equipped and comfortable. We absolutely loved it and will definitely return.
