Alma Del Pacifico Beach Hotel & Spa

I was glad I booked a table, because the restaurant was full by 7:30pm. As it got busier, the staff seemed a little under pressure and service slipped some. The food felt expensive for what we got. My $24 burger was very basic, with little thought in the preparation or presentation. The cheese wasn’t melted enough, there were only a few fries, and no garnish. My partner’s fish tacos were good, but poorly presented in a plastic basket instead of on a plate. There are better quality and better value restaurants nearby. We won’t be back.

The beaches at Estrillos are clean and feel very private. Alma has hammocks and reclining chairs where you can watch the waves, often with hardly anyone around. The bungalows are private and brightly colored, and the restaurant is good too. I had a wonderful massage while I was there. It made for a great getaway.

The beach here can be rough, with riptides often, so it isn’t really suitable for swimming. I also found ants everywhere, even in my room and around the pools. Still, this was a lovely place to stay. The buildings and rooms are distinctive and thoughtfully designed, and I liked that there were two pools for a small property with only 20 villas. My room was huge and comfortable, with a very private outdoor living area. The outdoor shower was a favorite.

The hotel restaurant’s food was 10/10. It’s a peaceful place with breathtaking views and unique art all around the property. Amazing place to stay, I’d recommend it 100%.
