RipJack Inn

We haven’t stayed in a room here yet, but the grounds are lovely and intimate, and they’re really responsive on WhatsApp, which made planning easy. The restaurant at Ripjacks is one of our favorite parts of visiting PG. Happy hour has fantastic cocktails and small bites at great prices, and the food we tried was delicious. Our group of nine women had wonderful service from Olga, and Stephanie was great when some of us came back for happy hour. The spicy mango marg is one of my all-time favorite drinks! 😍 Definitely check them out while you’re in PG.

We had a delicious meal here, and the service was excellent. We ordered the Super Bowl, grilled fish tacos, fried plantains, and a spicy grapefruit margarita. The ingredients and presentation were top notch. There’s roomy outdoor seating with comfortable chairs, plus a sand volleyball court right next door. A fun place to eat, and really good too.

The studio rooms beneath the yoga space have an awkward shape, and you can hear some road noise if you’re in one by the road. Still, it’s a clean, comfortable, very chill stay. Ripjack is ideally placed for early beach walks and sunset surf sessions, and the restaurant serves fresh smoothies, cocktails, and meals at reasonable prices.

The Pacific Coast of Costa Rica feels heavenly, and January or February is a great time to go. This is lovely for a yoga retreat, with yoga practice and salon services on the property. There are monkeys, iguanas, turtles, and more. The owner is a wonderful chef, and the food is fresh, plentiful, beautifully presented, and delicious. There are quaint places to eat within walking distance, along with Frijoles Locos Surf Shop. Great surf, a temperate climate, and excursions can be arranged through the concierge. Prices are similar to the US, and it’s three hours from Houston. There’s so much to love here.
