The Wi-Fi wasn’t always reliable, although my partner could work from the restaurant early in the morning where the connection was better. It didn’t affect our stay much. We spent a full week here in a room with a kitchen and loved it. The staff were welcoming and attentive, and our room was spotless with daily cleaning. The kids couldn’t get enough of the pools, which were a comfortable 29-31°C. You can walk to the beach in five minutes. Playa Carrillo is gorgeous and felt more peaceful and relaxed than Playa Sámara. The town is smaller and quieter, with fewer restaurants and cafés, which we enjoyed. We’d happily return for another relaxing family stay.

The pools were beautiful, and it was so peaceful and quiet while we were there. The hotel and restaurant are both incredible, with very friendly staff who stay on top of room service and keep everything feeling clean. Really loved the margaritas, lol. The laundry service was handy too, for an extra $10.

We only ate at the restaurant, so I can’t comment on the hotel. It had been recommended to us, but I didn’t think it was five star. We ordered the meal for two, which was reasonably priced and came with a variety of meat and two sides. It was okay, nothing special. The ribeye was mostly fat, and the service was just okay.

I can’t comment on the hotel, but I’ve eaten at the restaurant a few times while on holiday in CR and always make a point of coming back when I’m nearby. The food is amazing, the service is great, and the prices are affordable. It also has a really welcoming atmosphere.

We’ve been coming to El Colibri for many years, and it’s still one of our favorite places. We live in Samara, 7 km away, and this time we booked a night in the newer hotel section as well as dinner. The rooms were spotless and very well equipped, with a full-size fridge, cooking facilities, a double bed and a bunk bed, so they can sleep four. The pool, Jacuzzi and children’s wading pool were all great, and the quiet setting made for a peaceful stay. Our steak dinner was superb, grilled perfectly by Boli. Roxana and Fernando made us feel very welcome, and our servers, Katya and Jesse, have been there for years, as have many of the staff. That says a lot about the management. It’s a well-run place and always fun, with a lovely breeze while you eat. A little slice of heaven that makes life better. We always enjoy coming for dinner and sometimes staying the night.
