The little house was roomy and clean, built up in a tree with a balcony and a lovely view over the area. We even got to watch the howler monkeys nearby. It's also close to the Turtle Sanctuary, the McCaw bird reserve, a great surfing beach and some beautiful spots for playing in the water. There’s a nice little restaurant for breakfast or dinner.

That jungle walk down to the beach was a highlight, and the staff, rooms and restaurant were all great too. My kids and I loved the whole stay and wished we had more time. It’s a short trip from Playa Samara and absolutely worth it. One of our favorite memories from Costa Rica.

The staff are what made this our favorite stop on a three week road trip through Costa Rica. Daniel, the manager, was incredibly generous and made sure everyone was looked after. He even took time out of his day to show us local attractions and hidden gems instead of just pointing us toward tours. He was relaxed and warm, while keeping everything organized. The sense of community he created with the staff and guests made it easy to get to know people. The place itself is lovely too. Our room was much nicer than the Airbnb photos suggested, with a hammock on a balcony surrounded by mosquito netting. We could leave the doors open and enjoy the view without letting bugs in. There’s a hot shower, and Wi-Fi at the restaurant. Daily yoga takes place on a platform in the guanacaste tree, which is beautifully lit at night. It’s hard to describe how magical it feels up there. Behind the restaurant is a big vegetable garden, and the fresh ingredients go into the food. Everything we tried was delicious. A five minute walk through the jungle takes you to a beautiful, nearly empty beach. Honestly, the only hard part was having to leave. If you’re in the area, this place is worth experiencing.

Carao project is a place worth visiting. It’s a beautiful, relaxing setting, and the host was extremely kind and helpful. We missed the turtle tour, sadly, but I can imagine it must be great.

The rooms and people were nice, but the place felt remote and not very well cared for. Internet was poor, and the only hotspot was at the bar. There were no lights outside in the parking area, and the beach a five minute walk from the hotel wasn’t nice.
